Eagles,
Jaguars, Bulldogs ready for success in spring semester

NORTH
VALLEY – Local 5A girls soccer teams are hoping to wipe
the slate clean heading into the second semester.
Boulder
Creek, Goldwater and O'Connor would probably like to forget
the end of 2006, which saw the three teams combine for a 7‑22‑0
record. But with 2007 here and region play upcoming, there
is renewed hope for each.
The
Jaguars are hoping to build on their one region win (1‑0
over Trevor Browne Dec. 15) with games against Goldwater,
Deer Valley and North Canyon. Boulder Creek (3‑11‑0
overall) enters the second half on a five‑game losing
streak, including all four games Dec. 26‑28 at the
Moon Valley Cup.
Goldwater,
which decided to forgo in‑season tournaments, carried
a 1‑3‑0 record in the second semester, but has
not yet played a region game.
O'Connor,
meanwhile, had a 3‑8‑0 record after a 5‑0
non‑region loss to Westview Jan. 4.
Region
games continue through Jan. 25. There will not be a region
postseason tournament as the 5A‑Division II state
tournament begins Jan. 30.
