From
their modest beginnings in Paris (Texas, of course) all the
way to their triumphant debut at New York’s famous Carnegie
Hall, the audience travels along with the three cousins.
With
music from a live band and an operatically‑trained cast
of Broadway veterans, their songs range from Elvis to Puccini,
soul to pop and country to opera.
Don’t
let their appearances fool you, a wealth of musical talent
hides under the stars’ amazingly bad hair.
Writer
and director Matthew Lord performed at the Metropolitan Opera
and sang alongside the greatest vocalists of modern times,
including members of the original operatic trio, the Three
Tenors. Soon after the Three Tenors’ historical performances,
more tenors followed.
The
Irish Tenors, the Ten Tenors, the Three Tenors and a Soprano,
Three Mo’ Tenors, and the Three Chinese Tenors.
Lord
had the idea to make it funny and 3 Redneck Tenors was born.
“It
was developed for my hate of the Three Tenors phenomenon,”
Lord quipped. “I actually kill off a tenor at the top of the
show.”
The
show has received rave reviews from critics nationwide and
draws fans from urban and rural areas alike.
“The
reactions have been a combination of ‘Andy Griffith’ and a
rock concert,” continued Lord. “It plays amazingly well all
over the place.”
Tickets
to see “3 Redneck Tenors: A new musical adventure” are still
