Starlight
Community Theater
will hold its
third audition
for youth and
adults for its
upcoming musical
production of
“Damn Yankees.”
This adaptation
is based on
the novel “The
Year the Yankees
Lost the Pennant”
by Douglas Wallop.
The
first two auditions
were held Feb.
17 and 20. The
third audition
for ages 8 and
up will be held
from 7 to 9
p.m. on Feb.
22 at the Anthem
Community Center.
Auditions are
open so no appointment
is necessary.
Play
rehearsals begin
February 27.
Performances
take place at
7 p.m. on April
6, 7, 12, 13
and 14 at Boulder
Creek High School
Performing Arts
Center.
“Damn

by Paul Towne,
produced by
Betty Towne,
choreographed
by Kenda Newbury,
with choral
direction by
Rebecca Hitchcock.

Museum
sponsoring desert
tours
The
Desert Caballeros
Western Museum
has revived
its desert adventure
tours. Led by
museum trustee
and volunteer
Joe Stevens,
the unique back
road tours are
designed to
take those who
long to ride
back in time
and into the
beauty of the
desert.
Visit
the historic
ghost towns
of Weaverville,
Octave, Stanton
and the old
Congress and
Garcia cemeteries
on the “Desert
Ghost Town Adventure.”
This
trip highlights
Wickenburg’s
beginnings and
reviews the
history of these
towns. Lunch
will be served
in the old Opera
House in Stanton.
The tour will
take place from
10 a.m.‑3
p.m. on Feb.
22 .
Cost
is $75 for members
and volunteers
and $100 for
non‑members.

botanist John
Anderson for
revealing insight
into the plants
of the desert
on the “Desert
Blooms Adventure.”
The
tour includes
a visit to Box
Canyon, complete
with Indian
petroglyphs
and insights
into the earth’s
history. The
tour will run
from 9 a.m.‑noon
on April 5 .
Cost
is $50 for
members and
volunteers and
$75 for non‑members.

to benefit the
museum, and

dancers coming

Museum in Wickenburg’s
“Cowgirl Up!
Art from the
Other Half of
the West” Exhibition
for an instructional
class in watercolor
techniques.
“Watercolor
with Jane Skaar
Coleman” will
take place at
Wickenburg’s
Rancho de los
Caballeros on
March 2 and
3.
Coleman
is known for
her western
landscapes and
for her paintings
of animals and
wildlife. She
has participated
in a number
of major exhibitions
and shows in
Arizona, Wyoming
and Montana.
The
fee for her
class is $175
for museum members
and $250 for

class instruction,

and any model
fees.
