Former
Chairman Kathleen Wade has begun her second term leading John
C. Lincoln Health Network’s board, which this year includes
three new directors–Lanny B. Lahr, Debra M. Larson and Frank
B. Pugh, the nonprofit health care provider announced last week.
Wade,
who is President of the southwest region of Standard Pacific
Homes, joined the board in 1988. She served as Chairman from
1995 through 1998. Her current term extends to 2010.
Wade’s
involvement with John C. Lincoln dates back to the ‘70s, when
she served as a hospital volunteer.
In
addition, she also served as chairman of the fundraising committee
that supported an endowment to perpetuate Marley House, a John
C. Lincoln family resource center dedicated to preventing child
abuse and neglect.
Lahr
is founder and president of Lahr Pharmacy, Inc., and he is a
founding board member of United Drug, one of the nation’s largest
pharmaceutical cooperatives.
Lahr
has two terms of previous experience with John C. Lincoln as
a member of its Desert Mission Board of Directors and with the
predecessor of John C. Lincoln Deer Valley Hospital, as a member
of the Phoenix General Hospital Foundation.
His
experience in health care has benefitted both Hospice of the
Valley, where he serves on the board, and Kivel Geriatric Care
Center, where he is vice president of their executive board.
Larson, who is area director for FranklinCovey, is new to the
board. She has 25 years of experience in diagnosing and developing
organizational solutions to increase productivity and effectiveness
of people and systems. In addition to health care organizations,
her clients include government and financial agencies.
She
is a University of Arizona graduate, where she earned her master’s
degree with honors in marketing. Larson has also completed Executive
Education programs at both the University of Pennsylvania’s
Wharton School and the Carnegie Mellon Foundation.
A
former faculty associate at both the UA College of Business
and at Arizona State University, Phoenix, she was vice president
of business development for Time Systems, Inc., when it was
sold to FranklinCovey in 1995.
Pugh,
who has served as chairman of the John C. Lincoln Health Foundation
Board, is co‑owner and founder of BDA Insurance Services,
a property and casualty insurance agency. Before founding BDA
in 1993, Pugh was Director of Finance for the Arizona Heart
Institute and Director of Central Accounting for Samaritan Health
Service. He earned his degree in Accounting, cum laude, from
Arizona State University.
John
C. Lincoln has two full‑service community hospitals in
North Phoenix, nine physician medical practices, three diagnostic
imaging centers, three health centers and a variety of other
health care facilities and services, including one of Central
Arizona’s original trauma centers. The Network’s philanthropic
activities are funded by the John C. Lincoln Health Foundation,
while its community service programs are operated by John C.
Lincoln’s Desert Mission.
