Shop of Horrors’ to make North Valley debut
by
Jim Crawford
ANTHEM
– The Boulder Creek Mainstage Players will debut “Little
Shop of Horrors” March 1‑4 at the Boulder Creek High
School Performing Arts Building in Anthem.
Adapted
from the 1960s film, “Little Shop of Horrors” is the story
of timid Seymour Krelbourn, a flower shop employee in Skid
Row. His dreary life is soon transformed with the arrival
of a curious plant that feeds on human blood. Naming it
Audrey II after his love interest, Seymour soon finds the
plant has a voracious appetite for human blood.
Seymour
makes a deal with Audrey II: to feed the carnivorous plant
in exchange for wealth and fame. The ensuing events create
a darkly funny and captivating story as Seymour is drawn
into a world of deception and greed.
Brandy
Miller, who is directing the cast of “Little Shop,” has
high praise for her charges.
