Verbal
assaults at council meeting
Several
weeks ago, during a council meeting,
Cave Creek resident George Ross addressed
the mayor and council with a prepared
statement. Mr. Ross’s statement was
a violent verbal assault, read into
the public record.
The
object of his violent attack was two
ladies that have done the unthinkable
... not going along in lockstep with
the current regime at town hall in
acquiring land and water. God forbid,
in the United States of America, anyone
should ask questions, provoke thought,
and stand up for something different.
In the town of Cave Creek, if you
dare, you will be assaulted by a former
U.S. Marine while the mayor and entire
council sit passively by.
I
was not in attendance at the meeting.
I became aware of the assault through
e‑mails and phone calls that
followed. Iwas outraged by those present
and their lack of humanity. It’s no
surprise to me that the men on council
sat idly by. But how could the two
council women and a Buddhist mayor
witness such violence and not move
to stop?
The
next wave of assaults was forthcoming.
One of the candidates running for
council, Bob Miller, and one running
for mayor, Kimberly Versage, are asking
the tough financial accountability
questions of council. Their signs
are coming up missing. They are enduring
insults in person and in the press.
Reporting this to the sheriff and
council has brought no result.
Those
of us that have been there, done that,
are in awe of their courage to step
forward on behalf of all of us and
endure such assaults in an effort
to protect all of us. They both deserve
your thanks, attention, support and
votes.
I
know firsthand, as many of the readers
do, that politics is a soulless and
heartless wasteland ... I never imagined
how horrifyingly violent it had become
in Cave Creek with the present mayor
and council. You can make a difference
and move us toward positive change.
Stand up on your own way and demand
accountability.
