Mayor's endorsements all play 'follow the leader'

Once again, our own Mayor Morgan has put his usual spin on his choice for council  (“Ed Morgan recommends seven council candidates,” The Desert Advocate, Feb. 28). And, once again, he claims that the others are “obstructionists to the health, safety and welfare of citizens.” Why is it that anyone that disagrees with this man, must be unhealthy  for Carefree?

These other candidates did not oppose fire protection, they  opposed an overpriced fire station that will not even be environmentally sensitive. Does the mayor and his cronies even know what “green” means?

The “obstructionists” dared to express concern over the Lewis Project, with Councilman Coady even going so far as to vote, in protest, against this project. I, and other citizens are glad someone spoke out against this upcoming catastrophe. The council certainly never listened to us when we said we didn’t want an overly tall, overly dense project. I’m sure the “obstructionists” must have better hearing than our present council.

If you hold the platforrms of Morgan’s picks up to the light, they all say the same thing. It could be that they need a better ghost writer, but maybe it’s because they all have the herd mentality and can only follow the leader.

No endorsement is a good endorsement. Thanks, Mayor, you’ve decided for me.
