Obituary - Peggy Dennison

Beloved wife of David Dennison, mother of Danny, grandmother of Emma and Sarah, great grandmother of Toby; beloved by John, Denise, Andy, Dirk, Derek, Sally, Karen, J, Robyn, Taylor, Andrew, Greg and Timothy; passed away March 6, 2007after a tragic accident. She was 84. The family requests that donations be made to the Desert Foothills Library or the Cave Creek Museum in lieu of flowers. Rest in peace with our love always.

Emma's Run

DCB Adventures is hosting a 5K run, called "Emma's Run," on Saturday, March 31, during Anthem Days.

The race begins at 8 a.m. at the Anthem Community Center on Freedom Way.

"Emma's Run" is dedicated to the memory of Emma Simpkins, who was killed in a car accident on March 26, 2006.

The course winds through the Anthem community and ends back at the community center. The cost is $18 to participate and you may register online at dcdadventures.com.

Proceeds from the event will go to We Care In Anthem, a charitable group that helps families in crisis with seriously ill children.

Desert hike scheduled

The Canyon Church of Christ has a hike scheduled for March 24 at Badger Springs, located north of Black Canyon City.

The hike leaves the Diamond Canyon parking lot at 8 a.m.

Participants are welcome to join us for lunch at a nearby restaurant following the hike.

DVUSD hosts free Parents as Partners Seminars

DVUSD - The Deer Valley Unified School District Parent/Community Involvement is offering three free seminars to parents and community members.

No registration is required. Choose the dates that best meet your needs and attend.

Childcare will not be provided.

Next Saturday market scheduled for March 10

The next Saturday Markets at the Shops at Crescent Moon Ranch is scheduled for March 10. The market runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is located at 10428 E. Jomax Rd., in Troon.

Shoppers can enjoy local produce, specialty food items such as salsas, dressings, jellies, breads, Mediterranean specialties and a wide selection of local artisan craft.
