A
Night at the Oscars
The
Foothills Community Foundation would
like to recognize the committee
members of our “A Night at the Oscars”
an Academy Awards Gala fFund raiser.
The fundraiser took place on February
25, the actual night of the Academy
Awards. A special thank you goes
out to Susan Vanik and BJ Wayne,
who co‑chaired this event.
They put together a committee of
ten additional women who were able
to make this first‑time fundraiser
a success. Thank you to Linda Putney,
Mary Schumer, Jan Arndt, Pat Dalton,
Jill Crivelli, Shari Flatt, Sandra
Fleming, Susan Smith, Christine
Williams and Patti Budnick.
Thank
you to Preston Westmoreland, the
emcee for the evening, who did an
absolutely amazing job at keeping
the night moving. Thank you to A/V
Concepts, without the technology
the evening would not have been
the same. Thank you to Desert Mountain
and its staff for providing excellent
service throughout the entire evening.
A
very special thank you to The Desert
Advocate who offered its support
to the FCF by becoming a sponsor
of “A Night at the Oscars.” We are
truly appreciative of all the support
that The Desert Advocate gives to
the FCF and their contribution certainly
helped ensure this year’s event
was a success.
We
would like to express our sincere
appreciation to those who attended
“A Night at the Oscars.” Because
of the attendance, we were able
to raise money that goes toward
all of FCF’s programs. We plan to
make this fundraiser an annual event
that the community can mark on their
calendars in advance and look forward
to each year.
Lastly,
a very special thank you goes to
Toby Payne, who brought this event
from Sedona to the Desert Foothills.
We appreciate all of his support.
“A
Night at the Oscars,” an Academy
Awards gala, will take place next
year to celebrate the 80th Academy
Awards. We hope you will join us.
