Water
conservation: It’s your job too
Water
is defined as a clear, colorless, nearly odorless and tasteless
liquid. This liquid is essential for the existence of most plant
and
animal
life. Our Southwestern desert climate is characterized by low
humidity and little rainfall, as little as seven to fourteen inches
per year on average.
Low
humidity combined with high heat and drying winds causes more
than six feet of water to evaporate from soil and water
surfaces
each year. With increasing population and continuing drought conditions,
we must take an active part in water management, not just for
ourselves, but for desert plants and wildlife.
On
Saturday, March 31, The Gardens at Carefree Town Center is
privileged to present Glenn Fahringer, owner of Earth Care For
All That’s Green, Inc. and town arborist for the Town of Cave
Creek. Join us for this important, free seminar, beginning at
9:30 a.m. and running approximately until noon, at the Town Council
Chambers located at 100 Easy Street in Carefree. Seating is limited.
