Cadillac/LaSalle
show headed for Carefree
CAREFREE
– Get those Cadillacs polished up, there’s a show in town.
The
Desert Region Cadillac/LaSalle Club is hosting a car show
from 9 a.m.‑3 p.m. in the town center March 25.
There is no cost to attend.
“It’s
a way for everyone to get their cars out,” said organizer
Jay Breeze.
There
were about 30 cars registered in the show last year with
about 17 registered as of last
Wednesday.
“They’re
notorious last‑minute registers,” said Breeze, adding
no LaSalles have been registered as of yet. Only Cadillacs
and LaSalles are being accepted for this show.
The
show also helps raise money for charity, specifically,
The Ronald McDonald House. There will be a raffle held
in conjunction with the show for two Cadillac
bicycles with proceeds going to the charity. The winners
do not have to be present to claim the prize.
Breeze
owns five Cadillacs, his
prize vehicle being a 1961 Flattop with a wraparound back
window, one of only about 4,800 made.
LaSalles
were designed by General Motors as a companion car to
the Cadillac. Priced slightly cheaper than the Cadillac,
the car was in production from 1927 to 1940 before being
discontinued.
