Softball festival packs spring break schedule

DVUSD - Nearly 20 schools will be on display this weekend when Sandra Day O'Connor hosts the SDO & DV Softball Festival with Deer Valley High School.

The Eagles are hosting their own tournament after two losses to Northwest Region rival Mountain Ridge last week, which dropped O'Connor's record to .500 at 6 6 1.

Local teams O'Connor, Boulder Creek and Cactus Shadows will each play in the tournament with all three starting action at 8 a.m. March 24.
O'Connor will try to regain its winning ways when it starts off against Notre Dame. Win or lose, the Eagles will face an opponent to be determined at 3 p.m. in either the winner's or consolation bracket.

The semifinals are slated for 9 a.m. March 25 with the finals set for 2 p.m. Both rounds will be played at O'Connor. Boulder Creek plays its early portion of the tournament at Deer Valley.

O'Connor returns to region play March 28 at Goldwater.
