The
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, along with
Troon Mountain Health & Fitness, are hosting
a Hawaiian Luau on March 30.
Wear
your grass skirts, Hawaiian shirts and flip
flops as Mai Tais and snacks will be served
on the patio. The event also will have a Hula
demonstration.
Cost
to attend is $15, which will be a turned over
to the Lymphoma & Leukemia Society for
Cathy’s Triathlon in Hawaii in the form of
a donation.
The
event runs from 6‑9 p.m. at 10440 E.

Anthem
Pets host microchip clinic for dogs and cats
Anthem
Pets is hosting a pet identification, microchip
clinic on April 14 at the Anthem community
park, according to the organization’s press
release.
Registration
in advance is required at anthempets.com for
a cost of $25 which includes nationwide registration.
Non‑residents may also register. The
group is using the Avid Chip System which
can be scanned with a universal scanner at
most vet offices.
Benefit
concert for Habitat for Humanity Desert Foothills
Local
supporters will change lives and strengthen
a family by supporting an upcoming concert
to benefit Habitat for Humanity Desert Foothills.
Proceeds from the event will help Habitat
for Humanity Desert Foothills lend a hand
to a local family facing critical housing
needs.
The
“Hearts in Harmony” benefit concert, featuring
local favorites Kevin Glenn and Martha Lindsey,
is scheduled for Friday, March 30, at 7 p.m.
and will be held at Christ the Lord Lutheran
Church, 9205 East Cave Creek Rd. Tickets are

Advisory Group
Teens
wishing to join the Teen Advisory Group have
another chance Saturday, April 7.
TAG,
for ages 12‑18, is meeting at Desert
Broom Library on April 7 from 1:30‑2:30
p.m. TAG members get to plan great events
and let the library know what teens want.
Snacks will be served. They also will have
a chance to attend a movie matinee and choose
the movie. The movie begins at 3 p.m.

Easter
cookie workshop
The
Bakery Café in the El Pedregal Shops at the
Boulders is hosting a cookie workshop on April
6.
The
workshop includes Easter egg and shortbread
cookie decorating, complete with icing, frosting
and sprinkles. The Easter Bunny also is scheduled
to make an appearance.
The
cost is $1 per cookie.

American
Girls Club meets
An
American Girls Club meets every first and
third Wednesday of the month at Vineyard Church
at Anthem. The club, designed for second‑
through sixth‑grade girls, is welcoming
new members.
“The
club is about enjoying childhood and not growing
up too fast,” said Margaret Dixon, leader.
“I feel like our girls need an alternative
view of what it means to be a girl–the importance
of who they are inside–not what they are told
by their friends, society and the media.”
The
club meets from 4‑5:30 p.m. at Vineyard
Church, 42105 N. 41st Dr. Club dues are $3
per meeting and parents are welcome to observe.
