New River/Desert Hills Community Association to host informational session

The New River/Desert Hills Community Association will host an informational session on local law enforcement issues and emergency preparedness with speakers Capt. Barry Roska, Maricopa County Sheriff’s office and the Community Emergency Response Team.

Captain Roska from MCSO’s Dist. 4 office will discuss concerns and issues facing our area from a law enforcement perspective. Questions for Capt. Roska to research may be submitted in advance by e-mailing elkheart@gmail.com.

In addition, Daisy Mountain Fire Department will be hosting a presentation on its Community Emergency Response Team and the free public classes in disaster preparedness given by the fire department throughout the year. The presentation will be given by firefighter Paul Schickel and CERT volunteer, Jack Gatchell. Participants will hear about a wide variety of subjects, such as first aid to triage of mass casualties, and more.

Come and learn how you can be better prepared for life’s unforeseen emergencies at the next public meeting of the NR/DHCA on Tuesday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. at Crossroads Christian Fellowship located at 42425 N. New River Rd. in New River.
