mural during Spring art walk
SCOTTSDALE - The "School of Grayhawk" legacy mural,
created by Cave Creek artist Stephen DeWitt Perrin with the inspiring
creative assistance of Grayhawk Elementary School's sixth grade
class, depicts the students in a modern day fashion of Raphael's
1509 painting, "The School of Athens." It will be unveiled
during the school's spring Art Walk.
The Art Walk will be April 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the school's
multi purpose room, 7525 E. Grayhawk Dr. For more information,

Kids can
get art scholarships
SCOTTSDALE - Kids and teens are invited to apply for scholarships
to attend Club BRIO's summer art program. A simple, one page form
can be downloaded at www.briofinearts.com. Scholarships are awarded
on need and/or merit.
BRIO Fine Arts Center, 8340 E. Raintree Dr., offers comprehensive
and affordable classes in the fine arts such as acrylics, watercolors,
drawing, charcoal, pastels, oil crayons, art history and collage.
All instructors are certified. Classes begin June 12. Call (480)

DESERT FOOTHILLS - Registration for summer programs, classes and
camps sponsored by Desert Foothills Community Education has begun.
A special registration day is set for April 8, from 10 a.m. to
3 p.m., at Cactus Shadows Fine Arts Center, 33606 N. 60th St.,
Scottsdale. Summer teachers, program coordinators and staff will
be on hand to answer questions.
Activities planned for children of preschool to middle school
age are open to the entire community. Everything from art, scholastics,
cooking, dance, gymnastics and music, to games, camps and swimming
are offered.
Since programs fill quickly and some require a minimum number,
interested participants are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible.
