Falcons split pair with Notre Dame
CSHS faces three region games this week
by Jason Stone

CCUSD - It was a mixed bag for the Cactus Shadows baseball team last week as the Falcons split a two game set with Notre Dame to stay at .500 in the Wells Fargo 2 Region.

The Falcons beat Notre Dame at home 11 5 March 28 as senior catcher Ollie Goulder hit two home runs, including a grand slam, and finished with eight RBIs. The homers helped Cactus Shadows (7 8 overall) rally from a 4 0 deficit.

In the rematch at Notre Dame two days later, the Falcons were paid back in a 6 4 loss to fall to 2 2 in the region race. Notre Dame has grabbed the early lead in the standings with a 4 1 mark. Cactus Shadows is tied for second with Bradshaw Mountain, a team the Falcons were scheduled to play twice this week-one at home and one in Prescott Valley.

The Falcons will also be on the road at Washington and Sunnyslope to continue a key stretch of region games.
