ANTHEM
– A 354‑unit apartment complex is under construction
south of Anthem Way, just east of Interstate 17 in Anthem.
Bela
Rosa Apartments approved by Maricopa County in August
2005 partially falls into an area zoned R‑4 or Residential‑4.
According to county planning codes, R‑4 allows a
minimum of 2,000 square feet area per dwelling unit and
6,000 square feet minimum for the lot area.
Bela
Rosa Apartments, owned by Bela Rosa Associates of Newport
Beach, Calif. will cover a 19.7‑acre lot, said Julie
Syrmopoulos, spokeswoman for the Maricopa County Planning
Department. The building footprint will span about 28
percent of the total acreage.
The
38‑building complex includes one recreation building.
Apartment plans range from one‑ to three‑bedroom
units.
“Most
of the parking is only visible from the inside of the
complex,” Syrmopoulos said.
Apartment
parking is uncovered with some direct access to garages,
she explained. A total of 708 parking spaces are planned
for the apartments.
South
of the complex, zoning graduates to commercial office
and then medium commercial space, she added.
Bela
Rosa Associates did not return a call placed by The Desert
Advocate seeking comment.
