Where has David Schwan been?

We were e‑mailed a political statement supporting David Schwan because of all he has done for the community. It mentioned his volunteer work with charities and his church. It is very impressive, but we support our church and do charity work also. This may make for a good person, but not necessarily a good council member. We have to wonder ... Where’s the beef?

We read Councilman Fulcher’s letter asking where David Smith has been in the past. Now we

are wondering where was David Schwan for the past two years?

What has he done except approve a three‑story building that everyone we know did not want. He voted for a very expensive firehouse that is not environmentally sensitive to our fragile desert (forget the cost and inevitable overrides). And, he voted to approve developments that will be utilizing a sewer system that is already overburdened.

We know where David Smith has been: Working. And, as a lawyer no less. Considering all of the lawsuits against the town, we could use some legal expertise on the council.

We say let’s elect David Smith to the council and let him volunteer his legal knowledge as a council member. Charity begins at home.
