‘Draw the Line’ for new exhibit
VALLEY
– Arizona artists who employ the use of lines to create art can
enter a juried exhibit showcasing their work at the Phoenix Center
Visual Art Gallery. The “Draw the Line” exhibit will be judged
by local artist and educator Esmeralda De Lany. Resident artist
Marlys Kubicek will be the show curator.
Artists
interested in the competition must submit a self‑addressed
envelope, three 35mm slides of recent work and a $20 check (payable
to the Phoenix Center Association) by April 28. The exhibit will
run June 2‑23 with a free opening night reception held on
First Friday, June 2 from 7 to 10 p.m. that includes refreshments
and live music.

Artists
celebrate dance through spring concert
ANTHEM
– Tickets are on sale for an “Arizona Dance Celebration Concert,” a performance
by AZDance Group members and guest artists. The group is a professional
contemporary ballet, jazz and modern dance company.
Guest
artists include performers from Ballet Arizona along with business
leaders of Anthem. Participants from“Movement E‑Motion,”
a pilot dance program for individuals with disabilities will also
perform.
Performances
are May 5‑6 at the Boulder Creek High School Performing Arts
Center, 40404 N. Gavilan Peak Parkway.
Tickets are $12 for seniors and students and $18 for adults
with discounts available for members of the Arts Council of the
