Anthem
neighborhood has become a raceway
I
just read “Anthem connector road gets one step closer” (The
Desert Advocate, April 26) and couldn’t agree more.
Our
street (Silver Pine Drive) has become a raceway for residential
and construction traffic. Residents and construction workers
from Anthem Ridge Drive wanting to travel west and traffic from
Wolf Run (traveling east) trying to reach Anthem Ridge Drive
use Silver Pine as an access road. Silver Pine has blind curves
on both ends and homes with 3‑4 children per home, not
to mention golf carts and pedestrian traffic, which makes for
a dangerous situation. Just turning in and out of our driveway
is a hair‑raising experience.
There
needs to be a direct connection for vehicular traffic, and not
just golf carts, between Anthem Hills/Wolf Run and Anthem Ridge
Drive. Forcing traffic, especially visitors, to find their own
way from Wolf Run to Anthem Ridge Drive has created unsafe traffic
volume on residential streets within Anthem Country Club.
For
example, Anthem Club Drive provides direct access from the first
to the second gates of the Country Club and Wolf Run runs from
the second to the third gate. Why is there not another direct
access road from Wolf Run/Anthem Hills Drive to Anthem Ridge
Drive?
The
most logical place for an access route would be near the Ironwood
Clubhouse, which would also allow residents on the east side
of the clubhouse access as convenient as for those living on
the west side of the Ironwood.
The
current situation is a liability issue, to say the least. The
club needs direct access from Anthem Club Drive to Anthem Ridge
Drive without going through narrow residential streets.
