B.C. doubles team 3rd in state

DVUSD – Boulder Creek’s girls tennis doubles team of Hannah Townsend and Vanessa Green took third at the 5A‑Division II state doubles tournament last week, giving the young school its highest finish at the state level. Townsend and Green beat a team from (Marana) Mountain View 6‑0, 6‑1 to advance to the semifinals, but lost in the semis to a sister team from Flowing Wells.

In boys action, Nick Smillie advanced to the Round of 16 in singles before losing to the No. 5 seed of the tournament from North High School.
