Q:
Is there anything in the Bible about global
warming?
A:
When the little boy was asked what he should
do if his clothes were on fire he replied,
“Don’t put them on.”
I
believe there are plenty of people in the
media and politics who are putting us on
for the sake of votes and higher taxes,
under the guise of saving the planet. On
April 27, 2007, meteorologists on the Weather
Channel declared with straight faces that
94 percent of Americans believe global warming
is our greatest concern. Have these geniuses
forgotten that we are involved in a religious
war? They sadly added that most Americans
are unwilling to save the planet by paying
higher taxes.
With
that said, yes, the Bible prophesies global
warming. It’s just not going to happen the
way
most Hollywood movie stars would like us
to believe. The earth has experienced cataclysmic
upheavals throughout history. It was once
entirely covered with water.
One
day, our neighbor unearthed a star fish
while working in his garden in Toledo, Ohio.
While
Joshua prayed for a long day in Joshua 10,
the Incas recorded a long night.
We
find fossils of ferns in the Painted Desert,
and this earth is speeding toward a beating
like it has never seen before.
Man
has no green light to pig up the planet,
but God has already warned that He is going
to purge this place before the return of
Jesus Christ. He will, “Lay the earth waste,
devastate it, turn it upside down on its
axis, and the inhabitants of the earth will
be burned.”
(Isaiah
24:1‑23.)
Not
only will islands disappear, but also entire
mountain ranges due to earthquakes, rather
than rising oceans. (See Rev 16:17‑21.)
People will rail on God because of the scorching
heat which will cause sores. (See Rev 16:8‑12.)
A close examination of these verses reveals
the source of
this intense heat will come from God during
the seven‑year great tribulation,
as opposed to man.
The
cause of these catastrophes is sin. (See
Isa 24:20.) We currently live in a world
that rejects Jesus Christ. But if you want
to experience planet earth in its most glorious
form, then come to Jesus. The answers will
never be found in government programs, conservation
movements, political parties, higher taxes,
mother earth worship, or cooking without
carbon. The solution is a person, and that
person is Jesus Christ.
I
believe the Bible when it says Jesus will
rescue Christians from these worldwide disasters.
(See 1 Cor 15:50‑58, 1 Thes 5:9.)
You can march, lobby, give money, and bark
louder than Old Yeller as much as you like
to no avail. Today, the Savior will welcome
you into His love and life. Jesus invites
you to experience 1,000 years on the earth
as you desire it to be. He can handle it.
Mankind never will.
Isaiah
65:17:25
