Music in May comes to a close
by Jennifer Krahe

ANTHEM ‑ Music in May will be wrapping up with two remaining free concerts to be held at the Anthem Community Park Amphitheater and a performance by the Phoenix Symphony at the stadium.

Tumbleweed Junction will take the stage on Friday, May 19, at 7 p.m. Styles ranging from country music to southern and classic rock prove this band’s versatility to be one of its strengths. Their repertoire includes covers as well as original songs.

The Pete Pancrazi Trio will offer their original compositions along with Latin jazz standards  at 7 p.m. May 20.  With Pete’s nimble guitar work and warm vocals, the Trio is sure to delight.

The Phoenix Symphony, under the direction of guest conductor Keith Brion, will perform music in a patriotic theme. ProMusica Arizona Chorale will open the concert at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for this event are $25 each (four for $80) for reserved seating, and $18 for lawn seating (bring your own blankets and chairs). Lawn seating for children under 12 is free. Food, beer, and wine will be available for purchase; no outside alcohol is permitted. A fireworks display will follow the performance.
