See ‘World’s Shortest Parade’

CROWN KING – The “World’s Shortest Parade” at noon, May 28, kicks off Memorial Day celebrations in Crown King. Floats travel twice up and back Main Street of the little 1888 ghost town in the Prescott National Forest, a 90 minutes drive from Phoenix.

The grand opening of Rocky Road Sweet Stop, featuring Thrifty ice cream, face painting, raffle prizes, and other activities are available during the weekend. In addition to Crown King’s historic buildings, the town features restaurants, saloons, and the 102‑year‑old General Store and Curios Shop. Miles of riding trails are open to Jeep, bike and 4x4 enthusiasts.

From I‑17, take Exit # 248 Bumblebee and follow the 26‑mile graded dirt road up the mountain. For directions and map, visit www.crownking.com.
