PPP contest winners announced

April marked the five‑year anniversary of Pinnacle Peak Park.

Among the planned celebration activities was a children’s art contest in which participating children hiked the park before the event day.

Children who entered received a drawing of only the silhouette of the mountain, and they were to draw or paint whatever they saw in a way most meaningful to them.

The top‑10 junior artists were chosen for their art to appear on greeting cards to benefit Friends of Pinnacle Peak Park. Each child who entered  received a gift.

The contest was coordinated by local artist, children’s educator and mother of five, Diane Barbee.
