Zip
code envy
Having
lived Phoenix/Cave Creek, or is it Cave Creek/
Phoenix, for almost 50 years, I’ve followed the
zip code controversy as long as I can.
First
it was Brennan and then Gary Kiernan, a so‑called
Realtor telling the city council he has clients
that don’t even know what city they live in. What
has he been smoking? The first day I moved in
I called the City of Phoenix for water service.
Then
there is John Dey. He stated last week, “There
is a definite lifestyle and property type usage
difference between Cave Creek and the subdivision
area of 85331.”
He
doesn’t have clue. But I admit he is right.
I
have over 100 desert trees in my front yard, three
waterfalls, three bridges, and a larger koi pond.
I have City of Phoenix water that’s not going
to go bankrupt trying to expand outside their
area. I have twice‑a‑week garbage
pickup, City of Phoenix fire protection, uncontained
trash pickup every 90 days, and City of Phoenix
police protection–and I don’t have to rely on
Papa Joe’s goons. I’m zoned for horses but do
not have any.
Please
give me my own zip code. Then when I need a service
technician, they will stop wandering around Cave
Creek looking for my little subdivision.
