It was a big year in local sports as Boulder Creek (top) celebrated its first‑ever varsity football game in September with pre‑game festivities that included fireworks. The Jaguars played their first season with seniors in all sports. Sandra Day O’Connor girls basketball forward Hillary Bratlien (middle) was one of the most dominant forces in the 5A‑Division II during the 2006‑07 season. And swimmer Shelby Nowak (bottom) was one of many athletes who helped Barry Goldwater’s teams excel during the sports season.
