1.
Since Spencer and Morgan are interchangeable as first and last
names, do you like to think of yourself as having two first
names or two last names?
I
guess two first names. I’ve never heard of Spencer as a last
name.
2.
What does your family call you?
Spence.
3.
Do you remember the name of the actor who stared in the 1980s
TV show “Spenser: For Hire”?
Nope,
I’ve never even heard of it. (Answer: Robert Urich played
“Spenser” from 1985-1988. Morgan was born in 1988.)
4.
If you were a hamburger, how would you be cooked?
Medium.
It tastes better that way.
5.
What’s the first great tradition of Sandra Day O’Connor?
We
have a Canadian Geese decoy that we bring to all the meets.
It symbolizes the Canadian Geese that fly in a V-formation,
all together. It’s the philosophy of “No Runner Left Behind.”
6.
What’s the last CD you listened to?
Probably
ZZ Top. We listen to classic rock in the weight room. AC/DC,
Skynyrd, Boston.
7.
Who won the most recent “America Idol” and do you care?
I’ve
never watched the show in my life. I stay away from it.
8.
What’s a bigger waste of time: sleeping or studying?
It
depends on what I’m studying.
9.
What’s the all-time best movie about the 800 meters?
I
don’t think there is one. There’s the one about the mile that
was a good one (“The Perfect Mile”), but not the 800.
10.
When you are running the 800 meters, did anybody at O’Connor
teach you how many feet that is?
No,
I don’t really need to know that. (Thinks) 3,640? (Answer:
Close. It’s 2,640–the number coach Brian Dempsey was trying
to feed Morgan, who misheard the answer. Says Dempsey, “I’ve
been around too long.”)
