Suns
‘a thrill to behold’
I
have been an avid Suns fan for 25 years. The Phoenix
Suns have become the most exciting NBA team ever.
Eastern‑style basketball is a thug war or slow‑mo
form. The Suns show what skill and athleticism can
be. Every time the Suns were allowed to play five‑on‑five
and not five‑on‑eight (referees deciding
outcome), it was a thrill to behold.
For
a time, I thought the NBA had come alive and the Suns
would be allowed to show their ability to all at the
NBA Finals, but I was always haunted by the words
of Charles Barkley (TNT‑mouth and spokesperson
for Commissioner Stern), “The Spurs will be in the
Finals. The Spurs are the best team in the NBA because
they know how to be champions. They will be the 2007
NBA Champions.”
The
outcome of the NBA Finals was decided before the 2006‑2007
NBA season began. Cheap shot Horry was part of the
plan because the Suns could not be allowed to win.
All the fans of the NBA had to be exposed to the battle
of King James vs. Lord Duncan. Just like you, I have
boycotted the NBA for the rest of the season and was
so pleased that your thoughts are exactly mine. Keep
up the good work.
