Ken Briggs with Bragg Crane Service walks along the 150‑ton, 160‑foot‑long crane June 7 at the Carefree Fire Station construction site. The crane was helping set the main roof supports. Project Superintendent Jeff Lopez said the project is ahead of schedule and he is hoping to have the work done sometime in September, barring any significant delays. The station is scheduled to be finished in late October and open in November.
