Theater thankful for turnout

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the wonderful article on the Desert Foothills Theater (The Desert Advocate, May 31). It was great that you provided so much space for us and gave us so much support. In this year of rebuilding and moving forward we really appreciate all the community support. The article was really well‑written and well researched.

We had an amazing turnout at our volunteer reception. We had 50 people attend and fill out their volunteer forms. That’s right! Fifty people, in Cave Creek/ Carefree in the summer! When we asked where they had heard about the meeting, almost all raised their hands when we asked if they had seen the article in The Desert Advocate.

Thank you again. The Desert Foothills area is fortunate to have a publication such as yours that is such a strong advocate for the arts.

P.S. I really loved the article about the lack of performance space (May 31 issue) up here as well. We need to keep those articles coming so when proposals such as the one on the school ballot last year come up again, people will understand the need.
