Roadway
improvement projects scheduled for North Valley
NORTH
VALLEY – Maricopa Department of Transportation was scheduled
to begin two projects in the North Valley designed to
mitigate dust. The first began June 8 in Desert Hills.
Crews will work through July to install chip seal on 12th
Street, 15th and 29th avenues and Irvine Road.
On
June 12, crews will begin the preparation work for an
asphalt overlay on various rural North Valley roadways.
Roadway construction should begin in August. For more

Habitat
raises $1 million
CAVE
CREEK – Habitat for Humanity Desert Foothills easily completed
its $500,000 challenge grant before the June 30 deadline,
raising $1 million in overall fund raising.
The
challenge grant from a local philanthropic couple was
made to benefit the non‑profit organization’s mission
of providing affordable housing for low‑income families
in the Desert Foothills area. Money raised this year helps
HFHDF build its next condominium project, near Cave Creek
Road and Blue Ridge Drive.
Supporters
will attend a reception at the Boulder House in North
Scottsdale, June 14, to celebrate and honor volunteers
