More building, but no water

The water situation in Cave Creek and Carefree is atrocious. We have lived in Carefree since 2005 and have encountered not only low water pressure (I can live with that occasionally), but no water, which is not acceptable. Lately, we hear all sorts of excuses from the water company.

When we first moved in, I actually called the refrigerator company because the water dispenser was not working. Then when I went to take a shower, I noticed there was no water at all to the house. I figured the construction of some of the new homes must be at fault.

Since then, I have been late to work more times than not because of the water shortage. Now I read that there is more, and more building being planned in the area. Where is the water coming from for these houses and businesses? Has anyone thought that out?

If we had known that the water situation would be so bad in Carefree, we would never have invested so much into our land and home. We love living in this area, but when I have to drive to my daughter’s house to shower and get ready for work and still be late, I get angry. We pay our bills, have tried to be patient, but after a year and a half of this poor service, it’s getting old. We deserve good service.

We lived in Scottsdale for 35 years and the water company there has been maintained to a point that we never had a problem.

Who can we contact? Every time I call the water company, I get some excuse indicating they are never at fault. Then who is?

Maintenance and good service should be the water company’s first concern.
