O’Connor runners third in nation

Sandra Day O’Connor’s girls track distance runners proved in 2007 that they are one of Arizona’s best teams. Last week, the Eagles showed they’re among the nation’s best.

Camille Olson, Dani Hunt, Aleina Eisenhauer and Lindsay Prescott took third place in the 4x1‑mile relay June 15 at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro, N.C.

The team, running under the name Arizona Blaze, finished with a time of 20 minutes, 56.93 seconds to finish third, more than 30 seconds behind the winning team from California.

The foursome also ran in the 4x800 relay, where they took 13th with a time of 9:21.15.

The meet featured the top high school track stars in the nation. It was the final meet for O’Connor for Olson and Eisenhauer, who both graduated. Prescott will be a senior next year, while, Hunt is an incoming junior.
