C4 to host workshop for artists

CAVE CREEK – Local artists wanting to learn about the Arizona Commission on the Arts can attend a free community workshop with ACA on July 27.

The workshop, to discuss programs for artists, will be held from 5‑6 p.m. at Cave Creek Coffee Company, 6033 E. Cave Creek Road. There is no limitto attendance and no charge to attend, and pre‑registration is not necessary. Parking is also free, and facilities are disabled accessible.

Attendees will learn about programs and services for artists through ACA and can share information on individual projects they are working on. Artists of all disciplines, as well as artists' collectives and ensembles, community organizations and educators, are welcome.

The Artists Guide to Programs has been updated and is live on the commission’s Web site (www.azarts.gov). ACA will address topics covered in the guide, including artist projects grants (which provides individual artists with funding up to $5,000), touring support, professional development grants, career advancement grants and advisory services, artists registry, teaching artists workshops, and school and community residencies.

For information about the workshop, contact Claire West, ACA performing arts director, at (602) 229‑8231 or by e‑mail at cwest@azarts.gov.

The Arizona Commission on the Arts, a state agency connecting artists and communities, has as its mission an Arizona where people broaden, deepen and diversify their engagement with the arts, as creators, audiences and supporters, in ways that are satisfying and integral to their lives.
