ANTHEM – Snap a greatpet photo and enter the Picture Perfect Pet Photo Contest at North Valley Regional Library in July.

Fun planned for families

ANTHEM – The North Valley Regional Library is offering family story time with stories, songs and fun for all ages at 10 a.m. every Wednesday in July. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Scouts send gifts to troops

DESERT HILLS – Scouts packed 131 boxes to send to U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, all of which included letters by the troop. Boy Scout Lucas Dematio of Troop 431 won a prize for collecting the most donations.

More than 20 boys gathered at Desert View Bible Church June 12 for the packing party organized by Cub Scout Pack 431 committee chairperson Barbara Otradovec on behalf of Packages From Home. Local businesses donated items for the project, as volunteers from Packages From Home assisted the scouts in their efforts.
