Dems workshops for public office seekers

The Maricopa County Democratic Party will conduct a series of free workshops to encourage community leaders to begin thinking about running for public office. The next workshop is scheduled for 6:30‑9:30 p.m. July 17 in Anthem.

Summer dance classes for kids

Summer dance for children and teenagers ages 8‑16 begins July 10 and runs  through Aug. 2.

The sessions are from 1‑3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays for beginning and intermediate students. The four‑week sessions includes hip hop, jazz, dance‑ drama and contemporary dance styles. Helena Saraydarian and guests are the instructors.

The classes are sponsored by Black Mountain Fitness and Aerobic Studio in Cave Creek. Pre‑registration is required, and the cost is $150.

Church to sponsor overseas trip

Christ the Lord Lutheran Church in Carefree is planning a two week trip to Greece, Turkey and an optional extension to Rome in April 2008.

Led by Pastor Bob Hutson, the trip will follow the journey and ministry of Saint Paul.

The community is invited to take part in the excursion to Thessaloniki, Philippi, Corinth, Rhodes, Ephesus, Athens and Istanbul as well as other places in Paul’s ministry.
