CFNLL claims softball title Girls move on to tournament in Globe/Miami by Jason Stone CAVE CREEK – Cactus Foothills North Little League is sending its all‑star softball team to Globe/Miami. The team earned a trip to the 2006 Little League Girls Softball Tournament July 5 when it beat Anthem’s High Desert Little League in the best‑of‑three District 3 Tournament.

Cactus Foothills routed High Desert 16‑2 in the first game June 28, before being paid back with a 30‑9 loss July 1 the second game, which was played in storm conditions. In the championship game July 5, Cactus Foothills rolled to the 21‑6 win.     

Team members include Danielle Amann, Alexa Bierl, Jena Donley, Hollis Edwards, Cari Frederick, Carli Hansell, Kylie Kwiatkowski, Kalyn Peters, Taylor Redmond, McKayla Shaugnessy, Ashley Schiele, Alyssa Wicker and Stephanie Wiggins. The team is managed by Joe Wicker.

The tournament in Globe/Miami is scheduled to take place July 14‑20.
