Body found on I‑17
by Kathleen Stinson

NORTH  VALLEY– Passing  motorists discovered a body along  Interstate 17 south of Anthem July 16.

According to Sgt. Tim Palmer of the Phoenix Police Department, detectives suspect foul play is involved in the death of the victim, a 20‑ to 30‑year‑old Hispanic male. The victim was found dead at the scene and  without identification.

Phoenix police are not releasing the cause of death at this time, Palmer said.

At 7:08 a.m., passing motorists called the Arizona Department of Public Safety and reported  finding the body about 50 feet from the road on the west side of the interstate, south of the Pioneer Road exit, according to Palmer. The citizens waited until DPS arrived to confirm the death.

The investigation did not interrupt the normal flow of traffic.
