In
praise of proper produce
Thank
you for such an accurate description of the typical
produce found in most U.S. markets (“A berry by
any other name,” by Lupita Cornejo, July 25, 2007).
I
grew up eating from our garden in the 1930s and
'40s. I have visited Europe and Mexico many times
and have enjoyed the taste of ripe fruit and vegetables.
I
am sure most U.S. residents, those who have not
traveled anywhere else, have no idea what you were
writing about. The flavor and smell of fresh fruit
and vegetables is a wonderful experience.
