$1,000 reward offered in ripoff

CAVE CREEK - A Cave Creek youngster barely had time to celebrate his winning ways in the Copper States Moto Cross Championships before low-lifes broke into his family's garage and ripped off his motorcycles.

Young Kirk Raleigh, 10, who lives in the Cave Creek Road and Lone Mountain Road area, recently won the championship in the age 9-11 class at the series event. The races are the largest moto cross event in Arizona said Brian Raleigh, Kirk's dad.

The Raleigh's are asking the public for assistance in recovering the motorcycles.

"Sometime either Sunday night (July 29) or Monday night (July 30) someone broke into the garage through a side door and stole his bikes," Brian Raleigh said. "They took a 2007 KTM 65 cc, a 2006 Suzuki RM 85cc and a Kawasaki KLX 110cc. Two of the bikes had the number 143 painted on them . The Suzuki didn't have any numbers on it."

The total value of the stolen bikes is about $9,000, Brian Raleigh said.

"I'd like to offer a $1,000 for any information leading to the recovery of the bikes," he said. "This is the third time we've been ripped off and I'd love to see the little (expletive) in jail but we'll take the bikes back no questions asked."

The public is urged to call (480) 797-0415 with any information or tips on the location of the stolen motorcycles.
