Valley theater scene ready for Autumn

CHILDSPLAY ARIZONA

Childsplay, Arizona’s award‑winning theatre company for young audiences, announces its 30th anniversary season at the Tempe Center for the Arts, on the southwest bank of the Tempe’s Town Lake.

As the primary resident company at TCA, Childsplay is offering eight productions for the public through June 2008.

 

Childsplay Play Passes (flexible subscription packages customized for families) are on sale through the Childsplay office at (480) 350‑8119 or at the company Web site childsplayaz.org.

Single tickets will be on sale at the theater box office near the opening dates. Passes cost $15–  $18 each depending on quantity and date purchased. Single tickets are $18‑$25 for adults and $18 and $20 for children, students and seniors and $25 for adults, $18 and $20 for children, students and seniors. Each production will have one discounted preview performance with a single ticket price of $12.

STARLIGHT COMMUNITY THEATRE

Starlight Community Theatre announces its third season  with a line‑up of four Tony Award‑winning musicals and one drama. 

Starlight Community Theater provides a variety of theatrical experience for both youth and adults.  Starlight encourages talent from all areas of the North Valley and is dedicated to providing live theater to entertain and enrich the community.

Fiddler on the Roof

Show dates are 7 p.m. Sept. 14, 15 and  20–23.

University

Auditions for will be Sept. 24 and 25. The show dates are Nov. 29–30 and Dec. 1.

 Once on this Island

Show dates are January 11, 12, 17 – 19, with auditions Oct.15 and 16.

Chicago

 Show dates are  March 27–29 and April 3–5.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

 The show dates are May 30, 31, and June 1, 5, 6 and 7; and auditions are March 10 and 11.
