Kublin nominated for prestigious arts award

ANTHEM – Artist and Anthem resident Donna Kublin has been a strong force in the North Valley’s thriving visual and performing arts community since relocating from the east coast five years ago. As a founding board member and current president of the nonprofit Arts Council of the North Valley, she is one of eight nominees for the Arts and Business Council of Greater Phoenix’s “Arts Advocate of the Year.”

After arriving in Arizona, Kublin, a painter, recognized the need for local fine artists to exhibit their work in the community. In 2004, she founded Stonemark Fine Arts and organized the first juried Festival of Fine Art at Anthem. This event served as a catalyst for the creation of the ACNV.

She is a board member of the Sonoran Arts League and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs North Valley Women’s Club.

 Kublin was recently named “Volunteer of the Year” by the GFWC North Valley Women’s Club for her community leadership. She serves on the nonprofit’s committee for the Habitat for Humanity Desert Foothills “Raise the Roof Gala” in November. The  fundraiser benefits low‑income families in the Desert Foothills.
