CAVE
CREEK – No one was injured in a fire that destroyed a
large mobile home on the northwest side of Cave Creek.
Rural/Metro
Battalion Chief John Kraetz said his department received
a smoke call about 5:30 a.m. Aug. 8 for the 2400 block
of East Rockaway Hills Drive. The first engine to arrive
on scene reported the structure was “almost fully involved.”
The
residents, who weren’t identified, already had evacuated
the structure upon noticing smoke and were not injured.
Kraetz
described the structure as a mobile home with an addition
on two sides, one of which was used as a home office.
The fire completely destroyed two‑thirds of the
structure, and only the home office area was saved.
Due
to the complete destruction of the affected areas, Kraetz
said his investigators were unable to determine the cause
of the fire.
Daisy
Mountain Fire Department assisted on the call, and about
30 firefighters were on the
scene.
