In‑home drug testing just a phone call away

The war on drugs has been fought in every conceivable way.

Progress has been made in many areas including educating teachers, parents and employers as to the signs that a student, child or employee might be using illegal substances. But the work is far from done.

Now there is another weapon to add to the arsenal.

ACT Now Resources offers affordable, complete drug testing solutions once only available to law enforcement agencies and drug screening laboratories.

“Just by having our kits on hand, parents have found that their children’s peer pressure is alleviated knowing that tests can occur at any time,” Connie Eskelson, drug consultant at ACT Now Resources, says. “Kits are available for parents’ use at home or employers’ use at work. Drug assessment can also be done in the workplace, schools, homes or anywhere you may suspect drug use by an individual.”

Technology has advanced to the point to where it is almost impossible for a user to evade detection.

“We use our wipes on equipment, lockers, or anything someone has touched or used,” Eskelson says. “We can detect what drug is being used just from wiping the surfaces.”

The need for drug-free schools and workplaces is greater than ever.

“It would be difficult to imagine that anybody living in North America today isn’t aware of the proliferation of illegal drugs and substance that currently exists in our society,” Eskelson adds. “Billions of dollars are lost through loss of productivity in the workplace every year, and countless families face the devastation of virtually losing their children to drugs.”

ACT Now Resources’ goal is to create awareness of what is often hidden from business people or families before it’s too late.

“As properly trained and focused certified drug test consultants, we perform a needed and valued service in our communities,” Eskelson said.

Along with the drug testing kit comes the necessary educational literature needed to recognize and react to a specific drug and the available treatment resources.”

ACT Now’s in-home program includes: Instant on-site drug test that detects the 10 most commonly used drugs; an instant alcohol drug test; an instant nicotine test; education materials to inform parents on the type of drugs kids are doing, signs and long-term effects of drug abuse; a list of local resources available for help if someone tests positive for drugs; and a family pledge (a written agreement between parent and child).

The in-home testing kit includes a program manual in print or CD form; a 10-panel urine drug test; a two-minute alcohol saliva test; a nicotine test; a list of substance abuse facilities; and free government literature outlining the hazards of drug, alcohol and steroid abuse.

Steroid and DNA paternity tests, as well as hair follicle tests, are also available at ACT Now.

The benefits of a drug-free workplace includes increased productivity, less turnover, less tardiness and absenteeism and a safer work environment. Employers save time on the hiring process by hiring only drug-free employees resulting in decreased insurance costs.

Employees can one-stop shop at ACT Now. The company will create a turnkey program designed for your company. A policy is written on the employer’s behalf customized to the needs and specifics of the business. The policies comply with all state and federal drug testing guidelines.

Consultants will meet with management to implement the policy and answer any questions or concerns.

“Illegal drug use is often like many diseases we encounter today in that the disease can only be stopped or controlled,” Eskelson says. “We do what we can do because we are vigilant, we care and we serve. To us there is no more satisfaction in life than knowing we make a difference. It doesn’t get any better than that.”

ACT Now Resources is located at 711 E. Carefree Highway in Phoenix.
