The
36,000‑square‑foot Daisy Mountain Station at 44047
N. 43rd Ave., near the Outlets at Anthem
mall, will handle mail for the following zip codes: 85085, 85086,
and 85087.
The
new station could be instrumental in curtailing mailbox thefts.
Marron
said mailbox theft is a big problem in the rural areas. With
the opening of the new post office, residents will be able to
rent locked boxes at the station, he said.
The
facility, currently under construction, will contain a self‑service
vending machine, post office
boxes, and three full‑service windows, said Donna Spini,
customer relations representative for the Postal Service.
The
land for the Daisy Mountain Station was donated to the federal
government, Spini pointed out, but she declined to name the
donor(s). Had it not been for the land donation, getting the
new station built would have taken much longer, she said.
