Michael Lee Dowell, “Uncle Mike,” 61, of New River, Ariz., peacefully passed away on Aug.15, from a motorcycle accident. He served in the U.S. Navy for two years and then served in the Reserves. He was a union cement mason for 40 years in Local 394 and he served for five years as a Fire Fighter Reservist for the Daisy Mountain Fire Department. He was an active member of “Riders of Fire” motorcycle club for six months.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lee Dowell.

Mike is survived by his wife of 27 years, Susan; mother, Janet; sister, Sharron, and her husband, Dennis Rachke; two daughters, Kimberly and Jessica; and five grandchildren, Joshua, Austin, Shaynna, Dexter and Zachary. In addition, he is survived by many nieces and nephews, and hundreds of other family members and friends.

Mike, we all love and miss you, please hold the door for us. We will see you soon. You are always remembered.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 25, 2006 at  Advantage Funeral & Chapel Service, 4141 N. 19 th Ave., Phoenix. A memorial will be held afterward at Hardtailz Bar and Grill. (35th ave and Bell Rd). All profits from the memorial will be donated to charity.
