– Carefree Kiwanis Flea Market opens
again Sept. 9, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.,
offering hundreds of bargains.
The
flea market is famous for its one‑of‑a‑kind
items, as well as furniture, computers,
desks, exercise equipment and plenty
of other odds and ends, all donated
by Foothills residents. Admission
and parking are free at Tom Darlington
and Cave Creek Roads, adjacent to
the Rural/Metro fire station.

Girl
Scouts to hold ‘101' session
The
Cave Creek Neighborhood of Girl Scouts
is holding a “Girl Scouts 101"
event from 9‑11 a.m. on Saturday
at Desert Willow Park, 30832 Desert
Willow Parkway W.
The
purpose of the two hour event is to
encourage girls to learn more about
Girl Scouts and to encourage parents
to volunteer to help lead a troup.

the New River Saddle Club Gymkhana,
Sept. 16, sponsored by New River Kiwanis.
Books
open and time‑only runs start
at 4 p.m. Events start at 5 p.m.,
at Larkyn Arena, 48606 N. 17th Ave.
Arena
fees are $2 per rider. Event fees
are $4 for members and $6 for nonmembers.
Only members can earn points for the
year‑end Saddle/Buckle High‑Point
Award. Membership fees are $15 per
individual, and $25 per family.
