VALLEY
– Three recently fired female executives have filed a wrongful‑termination
lawsuit against the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.
Chief
Operating Officer Beverly Hart, 35, and Human Resources Manager
Linda Bodak, 46, were fired on Aug. 9, and Chief Financial Officer
Sarah Stuckey, 37, was let go on Aug. 10.
All
were told by foundation Chief Executive
Officer Phil Allsopp that their positions had been eliminated.
The
lawsuit filed Thursday in Maricopa County Superior Court alleges
that the three women were fired in retaliation for questioning
foundation irregularities, including
allegations of questionable bidding procedures.
A
second count, filed on Stuckey’s behalf,
claims defamation by a member of
the foundation’s board of directors.
Gerald
Morosco, chairman of the foundation’s
board of directors, said he had not seen the complaint and could
not comment.
The
foundation runs an architecture school and archive, licensing
and tour operations at its historic landmark campuses in Scottsdale
and at Spring Green, Wis.
Hart
and Stuckey, both employed by the foundation for eight years,
served as interim chief executives during a recent reorganization
that addressed legal issues about the foundation board’s makeup
and looming financial problems. Bodak served in human resources
for 18 years. The foundation is based at Taliesin West–the architecture
center Wright started in Scottsdale in 1937.
