ADOT to eclipse night sky?

At the Arizona Department of Transportation I‑17 construction open house on Aug. 28, it was revealed to me that plans include median lights that will stand 60 feet tall. The spacing will place about 17 of them per mile.

What happened to preservation of the desert night sky?
